Hi All,

Yes, another sucker british traveler who has found the tiniest of kitten alone & hungry. I did have a good look for his mama or siblings before I then decided to smuggle him into my hostel.

Bless the little boy, he has a full belly & is now sleeping soundly on my pillow, behind my head, nuzzled into my neck.

I had 3 shelters to call in the morning, I have read it’s not cut & dry that they take the strays. I understand there are soooo many!

Wondering if anyone of you guys wanted to take the little guy in. Any takers? He’s absolutely gorgeous btw!

You have a Wat nearby as a contingency plan?

Cambodian cats are shy for a reason - they are on the menu! dont fuss him too much he will probably wind up out on the street anyways when you go, not knowing how to look after himself and running up to the nice khmer with a meat cleaver looking for scraps. And yes, they do eat cats. Saw one of the soul women butchering a couple on st 176 few years ago

If nonody local wants that cute kitten, there is an organization sending them to California. Just do a search on CEO.

Hey grils, i like your approach - just asking people straight up..

You might just escape the condemnation that many cat rescuers get on CEO.
Starting GoFunds to rescue the all the poor stray cats of Cambodia is generally frowned upon - for it's naivety, for 'begging', and for directing charity efforts to feral cats rather than more 'noble' causes.
(personally, i am pretty ambivalent, i reckon it is good people make different charity efforts in all kinds of weird directions) .

In any case, even the most hard-bitten old CEO regular is a sucker for a cute little furry animal.
Maybe take a few minutes to learn the photo upload routine (it's easy, or PM me).
If you post a few pictures, and maybe write a simple cat daily diary, or similar - there is a good chance that somebody may suddenly decide they need a cool new cat in their life.

I would be wary of cat shelters here, but i really don't know anything about them.There is very little of the famous Buddhist compassion directed towards animals here.
Wat's will usually take in stray animals. That is the traditional routine here, however they will be living right on the bread line. - or should i say, on a very skinny rice crust diet.

and please please please, if you do suddenly get overwhelmed by a burning desire to save all the stray cats in Cambodia. - please shoot yourself first (lol), that would be better for everybody, especially the cats probably.
