Post by Makaveli3.25 »

Please help me to find a good ENT doctor or hospital where I can find this service, because I started having a bit of a pain in my ear when I chew food, I have found out that sun international clinic have some good Japanese ENT specialists but was hoping to get a second option if possible. If anyone had experience in this matter would be extremely grateful to help me find one.
Thank you

Poly clinic Aurore used to have an ENT doctor. He has helped a friend of mine. (I accompanied him.) I had the feeling the doc knew what he was doing.

That time the ENT specialist was only there in the afternoon.

DO NOT let your barber clean your ears.
Mine still hurt.

I had an ear problem a few months ago. So, because it was recommended almost everywhere, I went to Sun Clinic (on Street 302). I was impressed by the modern equipment they have. I was treated well. The bill was - uhm - a bit on the upside, but I thought: "Oh well, with all that state-of-the-art equipment they have here"...

Until, I found out it didn't cure my problem. On the contrary, it became worse! Hm... So, then I went to the much less 'state-of-the-art', I'd even say 'back-to-basics' clinic HOPE Worldwide Center (on Street 228).

The ENT specialist there (Dr. Lucy Haurisa, an Indonesian woman who had her training in Germany and the UK) treated me wonderfully. I highly recommend her, but she's not there every day, so check when she's available.

Interesting to read this useful comment.
I don't dispute it but I have to say I had a less good experience with Dr Lucy. I only needed my ears syringed and she blasted one of them so hard I nearly fainted and my ear bothered me for several months. That experience cost me $40.
Maybe she is better at the more complicated stuff.
I have heard good things about All Ears, coincidentally also on st 228.

Hm, I'm afraid most of the time that's the case with doctors/clinics/health centers in Cambodia: one gets a really good treatment and is happy, the next one gets a less than favorable treatment and is not happy at all.

It makes it difficult to recommend a doctor/clinic. For me the question remains: why are these medical clinics/doctors apparently so unreliable here?
