Where to buy Parrot in Cambo?

thanks for the link but I am looking for a parrot that is definitely talkative

was also hoping for something larger but if one is talkative that size would be ok

I'm guessing you want one that speaks Khmer,??????????

But I have seen villagers selling native parrots in small cages, mostly the smaller ones like parakeets, on the footpath past the railway stn [ st 110 ] almost opposite the Council of Ministers building.

There is the Vernal Hanging Parrot, which is a very small parrot. I've never seen one myself.



What you usually see sold here are Ring Necked Parakeets. I've seen a couple flying around on 110 st where there are big trees on the divider, but I assume they escaped captivity.

We used to have one in a cage about 10 years ago. The father-in-law caught it out in the province.
It would sit in its cage on the balcony making parrot noises. But, we sent it back to the province after a few months when someone said it was illegal to keep them. (Don't know if that is true though).

A small pet shop on St. 348 near St. 205 has a small selection of parrots. I went in yesterday and saw several multi colored parrots.

I think it is illegal to keep birds that have been captured from the wild. I've never heard of the law being enforced for birds.

Vernal Hanging Parrots are not uncommon in suitable habitat and easily located by their call when zipping over. There are 5 species of Parakeets and all are disappearing rapidly due to habitat loss and trade. Only a complete wanker would keep one in a cage, or any other bird for that matter.
