Hello,

I am interested in moving to Cambodia. I have already visited this beautiful country twice and was in Phnom Penh and Kampot last October.

I have the following question : I have a bank account in my country with amount of wealth. I am planning not necessarily to work
immediately but withdraw money from my account in my current country. In Cambodia is there a tax on wealth account abroad ?

How does the system work in Cambodia for tax ?

Many thanks for your help

Sissi

SissiMarie there are discussed subject's on the confusion and issues of tax and laws, also whom may be liable for any payments. People who have businesses or are employed pay tax. Having a bank account you would pay tax like everyone else.
One issue I remember discussing some time ago -
Pension funds seem at the moment are not taxed. Although the law or at least the guidelines seem very sketchy. With the particular wording of the following "overseas salaries".
If the taxable pension does come into play, Unlike its neighbour Thailand, this country has no double tax agreement with most other countries.
