I keep getting texts from facebook saying, "[Bong] finish signing up..." with a different person's name each time. Anyone else getting this? Are people typing random numbers into facebook when signing up or has it purchased inaccurate information from the phone operator?

Same, though the same name each time. 4 or 5 messages over the last few days. I blocked the number and changed my fb password just in case.

if its a text, it will be a some scam, just block the number, dont even reply, theres programs that can hack into your phone as soon as you reply to a text, and they can get full control of all your phone, date and passwords, be careful people

The only way they can hack your phone is if you click on a link within the text. Your phone can’t be accessed just by simply replying to a text message.

Unless you read it on Facebook therefore it must be true. ;)

I initially thought it was a scam, but it's a legit facebook number and URL.

My best guess is some douche is attempting to verify new bot/anon/scam facebook accounts with random phone numbers.

Neither do I. It doesn't need to be linked for FB to send an SMS, someone just needs to type in that phone number into the facebook signup form and Facebook sends the message.

I have created an account with your phone number called Stuart Lennon so the messages should stop now. Enjoy our new Facebook account!
