Recent Sihanoukville info and guide

Post by snookvisitor »

Hello everyone. I'll be in Sihanoukville next week. If there are any locals or expats there who speak English (and preferably Khmer also) I'd like to meet up.

I also need some general info. Where can I rent a bicycle or a scooter? How long does it take to explore the city parts of Sihanoukville on foot/bike/scooter? Is it possible to hire a driver (tuktuk or car) for a day, and if so, where do I find them and what's the going rate?

Can anyone recommend a local guide who speaks Khmer and English?

Feel free to PM or reply here.

Cheers

Everybody has left SNV except the Chinese.

Honestly, why? Wherever you are right now look at a huge pile of garbage festering in the tropical heat, in front of a massive building site. if you don't have access to that I can attach a photo.
It's not a nice place.
up to you...

Some of the 30 or so Chinese run/owned casinos will welcome you wit open arms or outstretched hands. For a really exciting time bring lots of cash.

Why in dead would you go there at this time! One of my friends contacted me a few days ago from the UK. She was asking if I would like to meet up with her and could I recommend restaurant's and tour's. I said why are you going to Chinatown. She had no idea about any of this. She is coming on a cruise and it looks like they haven't advertised the new SHV.
Casinos you may find that some whites are not permitted.

I stopped visiting Shitsville when the Glory hole opened. Hence my abysmal ignorance about the correct number of casinos.

50 licences but not 50 casinos.
Anyway, they are so small compared to any other gambling hub they are pretty dismal.

There’s one in Macau that’s 1 million sq!

Taabarang - The Glory Hole is a distant memory, you are the only one who brings it up.
