The ideal places in cambodia for Introverts?

Post by michael.stewart1 »

I am an introvert and I would like to know the ideal places for people who want to be alone with nature. Phnom Penh is getting a little boring as all there is to do is nightclubs, casinos, bars, overpriced restaurants, hookers, and tuk-tuk drivers asking me if I need a ride despite being on a bike with my girlfriend or just arriving at Aeon mall. It would be ideal if I could find somewhere in Cambodia that would be like the Amazon Rainforest, Atacama Desert, or Siberia.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

What happened with you and the girlfriend? Did she do such a number on you that you now want to cut off contact with all humans and to move to the Cambodian version of Siberia? Tell us the story, start from the beginning, not the near end.

How far from civilization (and western comforts) do you want?

Pailin - remote and nobody gonna bother you there but not much English spoken.
Battambang - has some comforts but easy to live out in the country and get to a city with western amenities, even a Lucky supermarket
Cardomom Mountains - either Osoam or Pursat side seem pretty remote. I think one of the posters Barang Chgout lives out in Osoam

You'd hate it out here!
Leeches, ticks, venomous snakes, fucked roads, warm beer for days when the ice truck can't get in, ignorant country folk, slow internet and wet, wet, wet.
Did I mention leeches?
Oh and immigration, immigration WILL look hard at you out here.
Speak Khmer? You'll need to if you want anything. And accommodation, where you going to stay out here? Squatting in the jungle is ok for the locals but I don't reckon the forestry police want barang camping in the bush.
And finally leeches, did I mention them?
