Huh? 'resistance to warm water'?

When I read the title of your thread, I thought this was going to be questioning if people thought water took longer to boil here or something.
Then I read you want a kettle. Then I'm not sure if that is what you want because you want some resistance to warm water.

Lol. What is your native language? Genuinely curious. I think the difference in expression is wonderful.

I think you missed the “up” in the middle, changes the definition entirely.

Think I would call that an element or heating element. Never seen them around but they could be.

You can get a kettle at pretty much any supermarket around town, pencil at the southern end of riverside may do it, lucky at Sorya Mall will, or any of the kitchenware shops around there.

Immersion heater.

Dangerous, cause of many fires.

Buy an electric kettle, $15

No ground (earth) wire here so water and electricity can equal electric shock.

I meant dangerous in terms of unprotected hot element setting stuff alight, not shocks

In addition, most are very cheap and nasty, and do have shorts after prolonged usage because the wire is always twisting around, not like a conventional kettle

Most hotels/guesthouses ban them

I have bought two of those immersion boilers. One lasted a single use, the other for a few months only. Handy when you are traveling though as most budget guest houses don't provide a kettle in the room.

A small kettle can be bought for $6 to $10 at any market if you look around, try on St 13 Kandal Market at that row of stalls with LED lights, otherwise inside. Otherwise Old Market and Central Market both have them.

They don't last long though, in my experience. They can also be dangerous, saw a video of one catching fire.
