Road to kampot
Road to kampot
Hi I'm a newbie to this great forum, we arrive in Phnom Penh next Tuesday and just wondering what the state of the road to kampot is like. We were there in February, and it was bloody shocking. Thanks for any info .

Same if not worse. No crews working, so don't expect it to change anytime soon.

Nobody is going to fix anything until it stops raining

Or until the new elections are close.cptrelentless wrote: ↑Tue Sep 24, 2019 3:04 pm Nobody is going to fix anything until it stops raining

They fix stuff AFTER the elections weirdly enough, not before. As with most things Cambodia, the logic is reverse of what you'd expect.

So the ibis bus is looking pretty good at the moment. In February we went to kampot in a private van, it was a Mercedes, it had that much rust in it there was not much left of the bloody van by the time we got to kampot. Thanks for the replies

Re: Road to kampot
Road is OK actually. I do it twice a month. They're still working on it but it's widened already so it's easier to pass slow traffic if you're in a hurry. There are still 3 towns on the way that are horrible and you have to slow down to 5km/h if you don't want to break your car.
just noise, white noise
Re: Road to kampot
Thanks whiteribbon, drove down to kampot on Tuesday morning. It's pretty good, only about 15 to 20 kms out from kampot was a bit shitty
