Possible to get a 6-month Visa for a First Timer?

Hello everyone,

first post, and first timer to Cambodia.

I understand that the Cambo system is undergoing lot of visa changes. I will be a first timer in Cambodia with a fresh passport, arriving in March.

Here is my question:
If I get an Ordinary visa at the airport, will I be able to extend it for 6-month in PP? I read that they cut you some slack if you have no history in Cambo ('looking for work').

Thank you, your response is much appreciated.
A.

A follow-up question. Will the 6-month visa start from the date I apply or from the date when my 1-month finishes? (So should I apply at the end of the initial month or it doesn't matter?)

Thanks.
