What parts of Stung Meanchey to avoid?

From what I heard it used to be a bad area, but some of it has modernized, so I imagine now it's quite mixed,
anyone familiar with it could tell me which parts are still considered bad/unsafe?
Thanks

If your a single man it's best to stay away from the entrance of the clothing factories when the workers finish their shift. Very very dangerous. I occasionally end up with a broken heart from doing such a exercise .

Haha, talk about speed dating. I guess you end up with a broken heart after they tell you they have a husband and 4 kids waiting at home.

I live pretty close by, in Meanchey District. The main roads are ok, if you take any of the smaller roads you can come across some fairly deprived areas. You might get a little more notice than usual, but I've never felt bothered passing through or stopping anywhere. I wouldn't go wandering around clueless in those neighborhoods at night though. :?

Thanks, I know the khmers consider some areas as dangerous and bad, and others as okay, and they're much more up to date on these
things than foreigners who would tend to lump the entire area together. Deprived doesn't necessarily mean it's dangerous, but if you have stuff like drug gangs operating out of a certain area, that would be a place even poor locals do not want to live.
So that's kind of my question, what parts of Stung Meanchey are the criminals operating in.

The night time parts, and much of the daytime parts.

Used to live over the stueng s'oy in Boeung Tompun and at 2am there weren't many friendly folk cruising the streets. My landlord used to sleep in the front room with his service revolver to protect his van.

Are you intending to live out there, or just generally interested in where to find jaos?
