My poor academic words affects my IELTS test. I have a big problem with my reading, listen. I learn family's word, collocation and part of speech, but it seems very slow as I'm a slow learner. My concern is I'm going to take the test soon. Most of you are teachers of English. I wonder what are your strategies to help your students improve AWL and how to get high score in a month?

Four skills( reading, writing, listening and speaking). But my concern is about reading and listening.
Btw thank you for your wish, Anchor Moy.

How soon is "soon?" I.e. When is the test date?

There is no 'magic formula' for improving IELTS test scores. If you only have a month, it will take INTENSIVE tutoring with a qualified (preferably native English speaker) teacher familiar with IELTS.

Read, write, listen, and speak all day.

That's the only way.

Put your fears away.

And speak up, they say.

Write an essay.

Ask, "What'd you say?"

In the end, just pray.

You did what you could, every day.

"Come what may."

'In the end, just pray."

The only part of above doggerel that will work in a short time span. Lots of candles and incense! Maybe money in case Ed. reform hasn't reached the test site.

Agree, and people who want quick fixes are usually in that position because they didn't really commit to studying in the past, so the main factor is commitment.

You are making the typical mistake of concentrating on specific areas, especially grammar areas. Turn your home into an English-only zone, hang out with foreigners, read English novels and old IELTS texts, watch English TV, listen to English songs

There is no quick fix, you should rather book an IELTS test in 6 months to a year...if you have paid already get a deferment until then, because you will probably fail. No magic fix.

Yes, and only a month of intensive tutoring probably wouldn't raise the score enough.
