Several miscellaneous questions, sorry

Ask us anything. Cambodia Expats Online has a huge community of long-term expats that can answer any question you may have about life in Cambodia. Have some questions you want to ask before you move to Cambodia? Ask them here. Our community can also answer any questions you have about how to find a job or what kind of work is available for expats in Cambodia, whether you're looking for info about Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or anywhere else in the Kingdom. You're also welcome to ask about visa and work permit questions as well, as the immigration rules change often, especially since COVID-19. Don't be shy, ask CEO's community anything!

Several miscellaneous questions, sorry

Post by Dangerous Dave »

Hi again, everyone:

I'm sorry this is a bit of a laundry list -- I figured it was either that, or clutter up the forum with a bunch of different threads. So here goes:

1) Where can I make a printout of a .pdf from a flash drive? At the copy store on Sihanouk at street 51, perhaps?

2) Does anyone know where I might be able to get something notarized? Other than at the US Consulate, which will take a day and probably end with me getting *extremely* frustrated and/or depressed?

3) If I need to send something to the US -- a paper document -- and I need it to get there securely, is there a particular shipper I should prefer, and how exactly would you recommend that I proceed (e.g., whether to contact them first in person or via email/phone, etc)?

4) Anyplace other than Lock & Lock that sells big, bowl-like coffee cups? I got one at Central Market but it was literally the only one the guy had, and that was after most of an hour of asking at other stalls. Lock and Lock will have them but they'll be *perishingly* expensive there.

5) In my spare time I am going to be doing some volunteer work for an outfit called IAMAT (the International Association of Medical Assistance to Travelers), and one of the things they'd like me to do for them is to spitball a list of potential doctor's offices, clinics, and hospitals to visit in Cambodia (in Phnom Penh and elsewhere) to be researched for possible inclusion in their travelers' directory. Would anyone like to recommend a health service provider or two, for inclusion in my list of suggestions?

Thanks and sorry again about the wacky list.

Cheers,
Dave.

PS: Yes, I *am* willing to cross the street if necessary so, uh, yeah -- there's no need to go there, again, on my account. :D

Hi Dave
Suggest you start a new thread titled Medical Assistance, where posters can leave their suggestions and which will be easy for us to find later if needed. Just an idea. Foreigners are forever looking for "who to see" for medical problems in Cambodia.
I have a doctor in SHV I'll post later, but need to find contact no etc.
Cheers.

1) any of the hundreds of printing shops or Internet cafes around the city

2) Benson Samay, Notarie Publique, 1 Mao Tse Toung Blvd.

3) DHL may be an option if you are seeking peace of mind, expensive though

4) shop around, look at places like Pencil Mart upstairs, regular supermarkets, stores like Home Fix & Home Too on MTT, home & hotel supply shops on st 163...

5) Anchor Moys suggestion above was a good one

Not sure there are any notaries in Snooky. we couldnt find one. be aware not everyone who claims to be a notary in Cambodia is one! check the embassy sites for list of real notaries.
I use Phnom Penh notaries for rotine stuff and transaltion which is in Cannadia Tower junction st 110 and monivong. Excellent servise at reasonable ( for Cambodia) prices. Unlike most of the otheres you can make an appointment between 8.30 and 5.30 including lunch and they even trotted out on a saturday to sign something urgent for me. I usually deal with Minsum Solidar. She has degrees from Paris as well as Cambodia and her english is perfect, probably her French too.

Thank you so much! Cannadia Tower sounds like a perfect fit for my needs -- can you provide a weblink, email, or full business name for me, so I can make an appointment electronically? (I don't have a phone.) Thanks again.
