Currency Exchange

In my previous visits I never exchanged money in Cambodia. Next week in Sihanoukville, I'll want to exchange Chinese Yuan for U.S. Dollars and am wondering where I will get the best rate.

Are there currency exchange booths, or only banks? Should I just 'shop around'?

Or... would I be better off buying USD in China before I came?

The difference between a good exchange rate and a poor exchange rate is only going to make a difference [ to you ] if you are changing a large amount of money. Why quibble about trying to save $10 if you intend to throw $20 away on Wat Phnom hookers every day.

Keep an eye out for money changers near markets, they have display cases of cash. They're usually the best. Travel agents generally give you a shit rate and banks are in between.

Thanks... that's what I was looking for. I have a fair chunk of cash... and China limits the amount of my salary I can change into foreign currency (in China). I don't plan on blowing it on hookers... well, maybe a little. :pardon:
