Is this a good time to buy ABA fixed deposits?

Fixed deposits of 4-6% are attractive, especially with EU and US markets stalled. I am looking into ABA fixed deposits as I already have an ABA account and it is backed by Royal Bank Canada.
Is this a good time to buy ABA fixed deposits?
If you had to rank the security level of KH ABA fixed deposits, what % would you give it? What is the most that you would invest and sleep well at night?

Well, last year, the US market was flat. I no little more than that - what is FB?

Type ''bank rates '' in search box.
Will help you more than I can. Personally I would have concern about who/what they are loaning to. If it's real estate or construction I would hesitate as there is presently a huge bubble in that sector.
There are a couple or more abandoned projects about.
Plus be aware of what Cambo tax man take on earnings.
Plenty to read in search results.

I've got a fair bit in Prasac. 9.75% and AMK, around 10%, Micro-finance not banks though!. Maybe worry and be sleeping less if I left it in over the next election, but up to now good returns last 4 years!

not a finance pro but a simple comparison of the prevailing rate today for aba $ deposits versus whats available for $ deposits in the US, one must consider the significantly increased risk involved with $ deposits in cambodia.

4% on non-fixed term
6% on fixed term
14% (I think) on fixed term if you are a non-resident (ie no E visa)

Rough #s.
$10K on deposit 5 yrs @ 10% yields $6.5K-14% tax man = $5.6K for average yrly. return of $560. or about $1.50 per day. Does that appeal to you?
