Cambodia approves 9 investment projects with investment of over $43 mn

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) recently approved nine investment projects with a total capital of more than $43 million and can create jobs for more than 10,000. The projects are in garments, bags and suitcases, cardboard and plastic items and PET materials. CDC issued investment project registration certificate to the companies.

Cambodia approves new projects worth $1.9 bn, including 2 garment ones

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) recently approved 10 projects across various sectors worth nearly $1.90 billion. The projects, expected to create 7,014 jobs, include a $3.9-million garment plant of Mutita Textile Social Enterprise Co Ltd in Battambang town and a $3.1 million apparel factory of Independence Clothing (Cambodia) Co Ltd in the capital’s Por Sen Chey district.

CDC Approves Two Investment Projects of Over US$300 Million
January 25, 2022

Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) this week approved two new investment projects with a total capital of US$303 million in Rattanakiri and Preah Sihanouk provinces.

According to the council’s press release issued this morning, the newly approved projects belong to Sing He Yi Agriculture Co., Ltd. in Nhang commune, Andaung Meas district, Rattanakiri province, and General Intelligence (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. in Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone, Preah Sihanouk province.

The first company will invest US$6 million for the creation of an agricultural produce processing and packaging factory and a banana farm, while the second will inject US$297 million for the production of all kinds of vehicle tires, CDC pointed out.
The two newly-approved investment projects are expected to create a total of 2,052 jobs for the locals, added the same source.

Almost US$19 Million Investment Projects Approved by CDC
AKP Phnom Penh, February 05, 2022 --
The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has approved four new investment projects with a total capital of US$18.6 million.

According to the CDC’s press release circulated on Feb. 4, Global Xilin Garment Accessory Co., Ltd. will invest US$3.4 million to operate a yarn factory.

Toyoki Apparel (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. will inject US$4.5 million, Kh Win Star Garment Co., Ltd. US$5.3 million and Hong Ri (Cambodia) Clothing Co., Ltd. US$5.4 million to run garment factories.

The four newly-approved projects, to be located in Phnom Penh capital, and the provinces of Kampong Chhnang and Kampong Speu, are expected to create some 6,200 jobs for the locals.

Almost US$70 Million Investment Projects Approved
AKP Phnom Penh, February 18, 2022 --

Cambodia has approved six more investment projects worth US$66.9 million, according to a press release of the Council for the Development of Cambodia issued on Feb. 17.

The newly-approved projects are expected to generate in total 6,028 jobs for the locals.

The six investment projects cover the production of bulb and electronic assembly and spare parts, clothes, pet supplies, and the creation of a supermarket, a car assembly plant, and a steam and hot air plant to supply beer and beverage factories.

These projects belong to six different companies and will be located in Phnom Penh capital and the provinces of Takeo, Kampong Speu, and Preah Sihanouk.

Four New Investment Projects Endorsed by CDC
Phnom Penh, April 11, 2022 --
The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has granted investment licences to four private companies.

According to a CDC’s press release issued this afternoon, with a total investment capital of US$31.8 million, the new investment projects will be located in special economic zones in Phnom Penh capital and the provinces of Svay Rieng and Preah Sihanouk.

Covered Bridge Cabinetry Manufacturing Co., Ltd., SDJC Steel and Wire (Cambodia) Products Co., Ltd., Solteam (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., and Wendua Packaging (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. will invest in the manufacturing of furniture; electrical equipment and plastic products; electrical and electronic equipment; and packaging materials, cardboard boxes, wooden boxes, wooden shelves, plastic bags…, respectively, it pointed out.

The four newly-approved projects are expected to create almost 2,500 jobs for the locals, the same source added.

Non-SEZ Investment Projects in Two Months Up 236% in Value
Phnom Penh, April 22, 2022 --

Some 35 new investment projects were approved by the Council for the Development of Cambodia in the first two months of this year, an increase of 14 projects from the same period last year.

The total capital of the non-special economic zone (SEZ) investment projects surged by 236 percent to US$2 billion, according to the report on Socio-Economic Trend of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The licensed investment projects are expected to create approximately 31,000 new jobs, up 75.3 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

CDC Approves Four Investment Projects Worth Over US$13M in PP, Kandal, Kampong Speu & Takeo

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has given permits to 4 private firms to invest in 4 projects worth US$13.9 million in Phnom Penh, Kandal, Kampong Speu and Takeo.

The first company is GLORY LIGHT (CAMBODIA) INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD., investing US$3.2 million in building a factory to produce kitchen and office materials (made of cloth and paper) in Phnom Penh.

The second company is J TEX GARMENT CO., LTD., investing US$3.9 million to establish a garment factory in Kampong Speu.

The third company is SELLY FASHION GARMENT FACTORY CO., LTD., which is investing US$3.5 million to establish a garment factory in Kandal.

The fourth company is SZ GOLDEN WAY TEXTILE (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD., which is investing US$3.3 million to establish a garment factory in Takeo.
According to the CDC, these projects will help create up to 2874 jobs for local people.

Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has approved two new investment projects with a total capital of US$6.1 million in Takeo and Kampong Speu provinces.

According to the council’s press release issued this morning, the newly approved projects belong to Sanjin (Cambodia) Knitting Technology Co., Ltd. in Prey Phdao commune, Prey Kabas district, Takeo province, and Hao Tian Make Clothes Assist Material Co., Ltd. in Roka Koh commune, Korng Pisei district, Kampong Speu province.

The first company will invest US$3.8 million for the creation of a garment factory, while the second will inject US$2.3 million for a weaving factory, the CDC pointed out.

The two newly-approved investment projects are expected to create some 1,400 jobs for the locals, added the same source.

Cambodia clears 4 textile projects, total 72 approved in Jan-May

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) late last month approved four textile-related projects worth about $17 million that are expected to create 4,990 jobs.
This brings the total number of projects in January-May 2022 to 72, with a cumulative capital investment of nearly $2.66238 billion. These projects are expected to create 60,949 jobs.
