currency exchange problem

Hello, cambodia expat.
I have come to malaysia for a trip. and i have few old 100USD probably year 2005-2006 bill. they say they do not accept those bill and only accept new USD (2009 above).

my flight to cambodia is in 2 day. I only left with old 100$ bill. will i have problem changing to other currency or using old 100$ bill at cambodia????

Not 100% sure but I think you can go into a bank and they will accept the old bill minus a small fee..

Do you meant they do not accept old usd now ? Only new usd ?

Anyone here to help please... i am going cambodia in thursday. I left a lot of 100$ bill from year 2004-2006 .

I don't know if you will have problems changing them here, but I believe that in the US any bank or shop will take them without question. You just need to find someone going to the US soon that will buy them off you.

Aye, there’s the rub. KOW is pretty good at rejecting bills. 100s, 20s, 10s, 5s, even a few 1s, because of all sorts of reasons. Anything less then pristine is always a possible refused bill.

What so you meant ? KOW? 2006 is big head right? Will i have problem with 2006 100$ ? I cant get it change in malaysia. 2006 bill is what i left before going back to LA.

KOW = Kingdom or Wonder = Cambodia

Best bet would be to try to the money exchange people near Central Market. They have highest chance of accepting that money - and exchanging it for smaller bills.

I would also bring 20 dollar bills and lower denominations just in case.
