I'm definitely not a businessman, but even I would be extremely cautious about buying a bar now, even with someone elses' money.
Big changes coming.

I can see the day when someone higher up says , this is not the Cambodian culture and how we want it, and then it will be goodbye girly and hostess bars.
Well at least for a while.

I think the changes will be more about who can work in bars, like in Thailand. But sooner or later the whole riverside and environs will be taken over, pretty sure of that.

True... a lot are for sale... some if for takeover lease for only a dollar are still a gamble.

Fair enough, after 20 years here I have not infrequently found myself at odds with official dogmaa snd unofficial circumvention thereof. I
understand the need for discretion.
Especially since I live in a small village where there are no secrets, only backstabbing for personal gain.
