Hostess bars make good money.

I just read that popular hostess bars can make a net profit of $4k - 6k a month in high season, and $1k - 3k in low season. What are normal lease terms though?

What about bars with food? Anyone know what they could expect to make in a half decent location?

I think the key here is "popular" bars.

I'm guessing most hostess bars lose money in low season.

If they are so lucrative why hasn't someone opened up a new one up and called it " GASHPOINT" then?

Last trip I was sat with a friend and his girlfriend having beers streetside at a well known lounge/hostess bar with the female owner of the establishment who is a friend of theirs. She was counting out a serious wedge of $100 bills from her bulging purse and said it was rent time and mentioned the figure involved, I was staggered. I'd been in there a few times and it was clear their attempt at revamping this extremely large and reasonably done up joint was failing miserably. She owns a couple of others I believe which are successful and I guess they must subsidise this one. I note that it was mentioned as one that was up for sale rather unsurprisingly.

It would be quite interesting to see a league table of all hostess bars revenues and net profits, and even the regular bars frequented by most of us. I wonder what would be considered the most successful bar in PP.

I would guess the most successful hostess bars in terms of profits would be Rose Bar and Airforce in 104, Oasis and 69 Bar in 136, and Golden Vine in 108.

I don't know about non-hostess bars but FCC, Pontoon and Slur Bar must make good money.

You can often tell by looking at the owner's car parked ostentatiously out the front - Range Rovers, Hummers, and top end Lexus.

They are so profitable, and the owners are so wealthy, that they can sell their bars just to help others get wealthy too! True altruism! Just look at Rory's; for a mere $150K, you too can become a high-rollin fat-cat! The Cambodian dream.

For those who don't know: the moto is the bar owner's, and the car is owned by the CEO of Ezecom.
