Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: An incident occurred at 9.10 pm on June 1, 2020 in Riverside Park next to Sisowath Road, Sangkat Phsar Kandal I, Khan Daun Penh, when a Pakistani man saw the thief who stole his mobile phone three days ago, chased after him, and beat him up.

Three days before the incident, a Pakistani victim was allegedly robbed of a mobile phone without filing a complaint, according to the Central Market police.

Then, on the night of the incident, the victim saw the guy who stole his phone, sitting on the riverfront on Sisowath Quay. The foreign man then went up to the alleged thief and punched him in the head. There was some blood spilt, and a stunned crowd gathered to watch the fight, then someone called the cops.

After the incident, the local authority had to send the victim to the hospital for treatment and to file a complaint against the suspect.

At the same time, the general public also requested the local authorities to patrol the riverside park more frequently to keep them safe from thieves and people fighting.

I thought that when a foreigner somehow is in a physical struggle/fight with a local, the whole crowd will jump in and beat you severely. That's what I've heard. Is that mainly just for barangs?
