How do you KTV?

Post by Sumac » Wed Jan 24, 2018 10:29 pm

I've been to karaoke dozens of times in Japan, but I've only been a couple of times in Cambodia--once in Phnom Penh and once in the countryside. Both times there were with Khmer people in the group. I guess I'm always a little reluctant to go in Cambodia because I don't know how the pricing works. I'm also not sure if there are any English songs or how recent they are. I'm not a great singer but I do enjoy karaoke with good company. I just want to be sure that I'm not slapped with a ridiculous bill at the end of the evening. Do they charge an hourly rate for the group or is it per person? How much are drinks? In Japan, they have all you can drink deals. Anything like that in Cambodia? Thanks for andy tips!
Even when a person is not there, the water flows.

A lot of that depends on the place and whether they have individual rooms. In a small local place you pay for your drinks and buy the girls drinks and or tip. if there are small booths or rooms then you may pay for the use of the room and/or premium prices for drinks served in the room. I have no idea how the big expensive looking ones work, but I think you buy a whisky set or a beer set and watch the girls drink your bottle very quick, or order extra very expensive cokes :-)

I always tell them to remove it lol.

Usually above 80$/100$ of drinking the room is free. If you have hostess sitting with you, 20 bucks for tips is usually enough in PP. Then you tip the waitresses, the old cunning lady (or ladyboy), the bill and you're all set.

There is a Japanese style karaoke place called Mysterious. IIRC it is on the corner of 368 and 143. Only went once but loads of women, Khmer and Filipino, and a band on Thursday's i think it was, can't remember my final bill but believe it was around $50 for a couple of hours. You can find them on fb.

I rate the guy who invented KTV right along there with Hitler, Stalin, Rothschild and Netanyahu

They should have all died at birth, the world would be a better place.

Ktv culture come from china/japan. This is the only way they know how to party. It would feel strange for them as well doing thing our way.

Ktv is when you have a party of atleast 5 people, the price would be reasonable 30-60 dollars per person depending on how much you drink and whether you want "girl company" or not.

With that said It's still very expensive if you go to the high end one ( they cater for rich chinese people)

Please, they cater to every man in Asia, I don't know a single Asian male, regardless of nationality, that hasn't been to a ktv. From tuk tuk drivers, teachers, gov't officials all the way down to students. I am not against it, but pretending that every man that goes into these place are not getting up to seedy shit is some kind of willful ignorance. JFC.

But in fairness, lesbian shows are expensive everywhere.
