jamie, Don,t know what country you are in at the moment. Last night there was a documentary on telly, BBC 4 about Freddie Mills. British World boxing champion for a short while. He was a hero of ours when we were kids, lived in the manor and came to my school a few times to give talks.
I was over that way recently for a funeral and popped into one of the last old school boozers left in camberwell and saw his picture on the wall, the barman did not know who he was? he was a real character, owned a soho club, the richardson gang were operating at the time round our way, he was found shot dead in his car. (the Krays?) A bit of south london/boxing history.

They showed a little bit of the fight when he got well bashed up by the american title holder and then a bit of the return match when he took the title. He was a right character, one of the first sport "celebrities"

Loved the music to go along with the commentary, everyone wearing a suit back then.
