More than 10 people a day are being shot in the Philippines as suspected drug addicts or dealers are targeted by police and vigilantes.
Philippines: Shocking images reveal the true cost of Duterte’s war on drugs
THE cost of Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte’s on-going war on drugs is beginning to rear its ugly – and rather bloody – head, with the body count rising above 300 in less than a month and no end in sight.

With the killings, often carried out by police and death squads, the former Davao city mayor looks to be living up to his nickname as “The Punisher”, despite calls from rights groups to end the string of ‘vigilante’ justice.

Local reports indicate that there have been at least 300 drug-related deaths since the start of July, of which 61 were carried out by vigilantes. Another 70,000 drug addicts have surrendered themselves to the government.
