Teslas Torched Across the Nation

Post by Big Daikon »

The owner, Andy Vanornum, said he was at a dance class when he received a call that his car was on fire. He noted he was aware of other Tesla vehicles being targeted. "When I bought the car, that wasn’t something I was thinking about at all, but I do understand it has become that in recent days," Vanornum said. Seattle police are investigating the incident as an act of vandalism.

The statements from Bondi and Leavitt came after the latest incident in which five Tesla vehicles were damaged when a fire was started at a Tesla Collision Center in Las Vegas on Tuesday morning. That was the latest in a wave of incidents aimed at the electric vehicle company, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. "This was a targeted attack against a Tesla facility," said Dori Koren, assistant sheriff for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

A hapless arsonist who tried to burn down a Tesla charging station in protest at President Trump and Elon Musk ended up setting himself on fire, according to authorities. Daniel Clarke-Pounder, 24, burned down three EV chargers in a South Carolina parking lot Friday — where he scrawled “f–k Trump” and “long live the Ukraine,” according to federal prosecutors.

I do not agree with Musk and think he is an a****hole, but torching private property is not the way of democratic discourse.

Yep. He should have just let those nasa astronauts float around in space forever.

What do you disagree with and why do you think he's an asshole?

Does it even matter? Torching Teslas isn't the way to oppose him, just like Hanno said.

No, no, don’t be such a lefty, woke liberal. Let’s turn this into another bloody political thread.

Come again? What is torching those Teslas, if not an idiotic political statement? This was a political thread from the very start, no need to turn anything!

In most States in the USA an owner of property is entitled to use deadly physical force to prevent an arson.

Some dude purchased a Tesla so he and his friends could smash it up with a pick axe. That will show them!

Reminds me of the man who was mad at transit - so he bought a bus pass but refused to use it and walked home instead.
