with most of the world locked down and having to devote much of its time,energy and $$ to the pandemic
China pushes forward towards its global plan ;-(
To project strength at home and exploit an unprecedented security vacuum caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, China is doubling down on its expansive claims to the contested South China Sea.
China’s State Council, the country’s chief administrative authority, announced in recent days the establishment of two new administrative districts in the South China Sea.
Chinese state media dubbed the little noticed distinction as a “major administrative move”, one that could put Beijing on a new collision course with rival claimants in the maritime area.
....In that direction, Beijing introduced on April 18 the Xisha and Nansha districts under the aegis of Sansha City, itself a new prefecture-level unity first established in 2012 on the Woody (Yongxing) Island in the sea’s Paracel island chain that China contests with Vietnam.
Host to 1,800 permanent residents, Sansha covers around two million square kilometers of contested waters, rich maritime resources and a host of low-tide elevations, atolls, islets, rocks and artificial islands.

This has been happening for years now
with zero effective challenge.
Fact is, the West has totally abrogated it's power in East Asia and the western Pacific.
We have allowed ourselves to be castrated by those previous champions of free trade and globalism.
- who have now crawled back into a self-centred isolationist hole crying "victim victim", and doing nothing more than issuing empty threats.
FFS, we can't even put together a simple billion flocking face masks - still!
So - where do we go from here? (realistically and intelligently)

china and taiwan both claim area within 9 dash line, no new claims deliberate misleading
us cannot condemn china too strongly bcoz taiwan also claims the same area and is a allied
conflicts between claims and unclos exclusive economic zone 200 miles are the real issue
china should get economic zone 200 miles, nothing more

Like i said before, China tricked the world into believing that this flu is something more serious. They know it’s just a flu, they know the infections rate is a hundred times higher bringing the mortality rate down to that of a flu. While the whole world is freaking out and looking for ways to save face hesitating to admit they have been taken for a ride, China is expanding influence. War is deception, Chinese have practiced it longer than any living nation.
