I’m a little bit on the fence with the whole “engineered” approach.
On one hand: can it be done? Yes.... would it be ethical to do? Depends on who you ask or which government they do it for.
On the other hand: dismissing claims of the COVID-19 virus being engineered as conspiracy theory just because you wouldn’t do it is a little blinkered.
And with the Chinese ability to lie about everything and castigate anyone who calls out their lies who knows what they are doing or working on.
Also, it is for similar reasons that the US doesn’t want people to use Chinese made 5g systems. As the likelihood they will be made with security issues that would remain undetected until it were too late.
End of the day I think it boils down to a simple premise... do you trust the Chinese or not?

Long time ago I read a book called One by One: A brilliant serial killer thriller, wrote by the Author Chris Carter. It was one of those stories that was gripping, page after page what would happen next, chapter after chapter not wanting to put down the book until you had reached the end.
Biological warfare is another matter, more so that it is an old way, and had been used to Incapacitate your enemies. In years past the thoughts have been there with small countries gaining advantage with a warfare against larger nations that would cause so much devastation and loss of life. Sometimes known as “germ warfare,” biological weapons involve the use of toxins or infectious agents that are biological in origin. This can include bacteria, viruses, or fungi, agents that are used to incapacitate or kill humans in their masses.
The biological weapon holds that certain appeal to terrorists; they have the potential to cause great harm, of course, but they are also fairly cheap to produce when compared with missiles or other more hi-tech equipment.
Because living organisms can be unpredictable and incredibly resilient, biological weapons are difficult to control, potentially devastating on a global scale, and prohibited globally under numerous treaties.
The number of deaths passes 83,000 caused by COVID-19 and will continue to climb daily until it is stopped or a vaccine is developed. This is not a book, thriller or science fiction, but a real-life killer. Has its being speculated I wonder if China are responsible of such a cowardice silent act of world devastation to human life, giving them the overall gain and status of super power and the new world leader, all in the name of trade and money.
