Hope the waters recede by the time you arrive.

Ur aware the visa fees are going to be a bit higher when u arrive.
https://www.india.com/news/world/nepal- ... 7-3715573/The department has hiked visa fee for tourists in a range between $5 and $35. While the tourist visa fee for 15 days (multiple entry) has been raised by $5 to $30, tourist visa fee for 30 days (multiple entry) has been raised to $50 from $40.
Similarly, the tourist visa fee for 90 days (multiple entry) has been raised by $35 to $125.

No, I wasn't aware of the increase, thanks. I'm getting the 90 day before arrival to help with the usual shit fight at Tribhuvan. (sp?)

single entries are discontinued. NO idea why anyone would need a multiple entry for15 days
PS: IF your looking for adventure I have heard they have dropped the permit fees to go to Mustang and Dolpa!!!
We tried to go back in '88 without the permits, made it to within 10 kms of Lo mustang before we were arrested and made to hike back to Kagbeni

Nepal is experiencing an unrelenting monsoon it seems.
Nepal has been lashed by heavy monsoon rains, triggering landslides and floods which killed at least 17 people and injured seven others.

Re: For Kung Fu Hillbilly
It's funny to me when people complain about the smelly canals in Phnom Penh. The rivers and streams flowing through Kathmandu are way beyond those, they reek so much it's hard not to puke when you pass over some bridges. There's a holy district called Boudhanath with this small disgusting sewer with gray water that runs through, an area with loads of stupas and temples etc and lots of pilgrims. Some of these pilgrims go into the stinking sewer and put all the effluent on their head. A lot of them are really old and decrepit and only go there to die. They burn people nearby and there are little kids whose job it is to poke the legs back into the center of the fire. It all seems kind of unhealthy.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Re: For Kung Fu Hillbilly
Hmmm, strange, i dont recall any sewers around Boudhanath where the giant stupa is
I lived up there, an did business for years and dont recall any smells like u describe. There was one lane we called shit alley, it connected Thamel with Chhetrapati an where the locals went to .....
Its now a nice lane with local tourist /souvenir shops along it,
Perhaps ur referring to the Pashupatinath Temple, the Hindu temple area, where they go to burn the dead and than dump them into the Bagmati River

Floods triggered by incessant rainfall for the past two days have affected thousands of families in the southern plain of the country.
