United States Deputies Take Down A Suicidal Man Armed with An AK-47 Without Firing a Single Shot

Detective Howard Brickner and Corporal Lynn Bays narrowly averted a suicide by cop scenario with determination and quick thinking. Marcus Lavender was attempting to commit suicide by cop by his own admission and as seen on the bodycam footage.

They were amazingly lucky. AK’s muzzle was pointed at the officer with the body cam at one point. If a round or two had gone off, a very different story would have been told. Also if random rounds went off in the struggle and hit some innocent bystander or person in their house (AK rounds can penetrate through most houses easily), different story.

Officers took a huge risk to themselves and the public by trying to grapple with the guy with the AK-47. Thank goodness no one got hurt.
