New York terror attack

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

New York terror attack: Eight dead as truck runs down cyclists before driver shouts 'Allahu Akbar'

Eight people died and 11 injured in the worst terror attack on New York since September 11, 2001 as a lone wolf extremist screaming "Allahu Akbar" used a pick-up truck to mow down cyclists along a bike path on Halloween.
The attacker struck just a few blocks from the site of the World Trade Center memorial, running over afternoon riders on the path before reaching a road and ploughing into a school bus.

Now then. Now then. Let's not leap to conclusions. That note praising ISIS could have been left in the rental truck by the previous user. It could all be a halloween prank gone wrong or something.

LOL, some moron on CNN just described the NYPD as 'the finest police force in the world'.

He must have low standards.

One is all but forced to repeat such useless platitudes after attacks as this. It's the standard response to calm the masses and give everyone a warm fuzzy flag waving feeling inside.

Not if there's a fire, not even if you hear the sound of a thud from my home and one week later there's a smell coming from there that can only be a decaying human body and you have to hold a hanky to your face because the stench is so thick that you think you're going to faint.

Even then, don't come knocking...Not for ANY reason.

Apparently around 4-500 people a month in the US are mowed down by vehicles, if 2010 is representative.

Looks like Texans and Floridans kill the most on the road:

Apparently this attack failed to even ruffle the feathers of 99.95% of New Yorkers, let alone spread terror. However, it is a disgusting and cowardly mass-murder.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

I like to wake up every morning and watch Fox TV defend the indefensible. Every week I think it can't get any worse, and it does. How come the act of a guy arming himself with an arsenal that would probably exceed most of the towns and cities we all come from, requires a period of mourning and self reflection, whereas a bloke with a bushy beard driving a truck into a crowd of people demonises a whole sector of legitimate American society that requires immediate action.

I'm sure like everyone here I mix with a bunch of friends from around the world, but to me there seems to be a nasty undercurrent driven by influence rather than experience.

Why is the world so full of hate and divisiveness at the moment ?
Yes sir, I can boogie, I can boogie, boogie, boogie all night long.
