And one of the biggest rip-offs is with accommodation. MP's can claim [ I think up to $200 a day ] for accom while they are away from home attending parliament.
Most have their wives or other members of the family buy a property, and the MP pays that property owner $200 a day for accommodation.

licensed to steal, set for life from parliamentary pensions but most are already wealthy, some tremendously so. the PM for example. Yet they have cut benefits for the disabled, unemployed and look like banning OAP from living overseas for more than 6 weeks at a time.
they say these unproductive citizens are a drain on the economy.
maybe they should just poison them.

I think it is $270 a day Duncan. Politicians in Australia are way over paid and get super generous perks and pensions. An old age pensioner can earn only $4500 PA before losing part of his pension. A politician can earn hundreds of thousands PA in the private sector and still receive his full pension.

Yes, true, stupid money for Australian politicians when people like the prime ministet of Cambidodia only get aroynd $1500 U.S. a month. Greedy Australian exploiting bastards!
