i am staying at bluetouge next door an they are meant to be remodelling the rooms.. an today they are taking out all furniture upstairs and talk of closing the bar as well soon.

Feels like almost every business in Cambodia is for sale at the moment, especially in Sihanoukville.

I agree, I have seen countless listings on various websites for bars/restaurants etc. of late..... trying to get out before the impending 'lull' perhaps????

No business confidence? I don't know.....

Threats of civil unrest in the lead up to, during and after the next election might be a factor.

Will be interesting to watch the asking prices go down and down.

Alley Cat, Sharky's and now Walkabout... 3 Phnom Penh expat institutions (used loosely) changing hands.

They may be exiting at the top of the market with everyone and their dog predicting trouble at the next elections. Or maybe the truth is more far afield, with Europe looking like it's on the verge of something violent with the Muslims in the next decade, meaning fewer middle class Western tourists for these firmly Western focused businesses.

Personally, if I was European, I'd want to cash out now so I have a big wad of money to stay here.
