Interesting. When these lower rents spread to the condos/serviced apartments north of Sihanouk, I might be tempted.
It would be annoying to be surcharged 25%+ on the electric, however.

It looks big but the washing machine is still on the balcony exposed to the elements as if it is a 30sqm

I’m not sure that $500 for what is in essence a studio with a sliding door between bedroom and kitchen is ‘lower rents’.
A few years ago this kind of place in this area was 350-400.

I meant for a condo/serviced apartment. I don't think you mean that rents for these were so low before, but do correct me if I'm wrong.
AFAICT, rents for condos/SAs have (until recently) been at least 3X the rent for the equivalent space in older style places.
But the sheer oversupply of condos/SAa has led to a substantial fall in rents, but so far only in the Russian Market area.
BTW, 70m2 is good for a one bedroom condo. The small studios can be 25m2 or even less.

It's a surprise price within that range, they can't tell you until you agree to sign a contract.
