Does anybody know of someone who's selling a motorcycle in Stung Treng? I'm going over there tomorrow and hoping to buy one to use on the Mekong discovery trail. If you don't know anybody, do you know of a place where I can but one?

Might have to just wait until you get there and have a look around.

What you looking for?

Thank you, any suggestions as to where I should look?

Something that will take me to Phnom Penh along the Mekong. Basically something that's sturdy, that's big enough for me and my backpack, has big wheels for the roads, and isn't too expensive.

I guess it depends on what's for sale there and your budget and if you only ride an auto

daelim, semi auto - tough as boots and cheap plus any monkey can fix them
wave, semi auto - Honda
step, auto - cheap
Win - Vietnamese will prob have a vn plate

any bike without a plate is cheap but you may get it confiscated

Daelim seems like a winner then. Thanks a bunch! My budget is anything below 200$ but don't know if that's realistic

Might not be very realistic, but even a 200$ bike will take you to PP. Just ask around in Stung Treng once you get there. I think most locals will rightfully say it won't get you much of a bike, but they're still available. $400 will probably get you something nicer/more reliable.

Ah, cool. Just need it to work for 7 days so I'm flexible on the reliable-part
