What was a smuggler's life like in se asia back in the 70's -80's?
Was looking online what happened to Lockie, an old friend from back in the day, an this popped up>
pretty spot on, i spent lots of my time travelling to the Indian subcontinent, but did many trips in an out of HK-S Korea in 84/85 as well
Interesting guy, even if a bit of an asshole

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Goa Freaks: My Hippie Years in India by Cleo Odzer is an account of the lives of many who financed their hippie lifestyle in the seventies through drug smuggling in the region at that time. Odzer returned to Goa in 2000 to be shunned by many in the community for writing her account - she died not long after.

Ms. Odzer also did her dissertation on prostitution in Bangkok and turned it into a rather readable book.Kung-fu Hillbilly wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 6:01 pm Goa Freaks: My Hippie Years in India by Cleo Odzer is an account of the lives of many who financed their hippie lifestyle in the seventies through drug smuggling in the region at that time. It was great! Few hassles, no computers, no CCTV. Bucketloads of cash after returning from trips. Nice cars and motos, plenty of spare time after a few days of stress.

Congratulations on getting away with it. Younger people nowadays seem less impressed by old drug dealers and criminals insisting everyone listen in awe to their wonderous Boomer tales of "freedom" and retirement plans built on blood money.willyhilly wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 9:22 am It was great! It's an embarrassment, but then again, you have the same with bank robbers who got away with their crimes, it does make for entertaining stories.Roryborealis wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 9:45 amCongratulations on getting away with it.
