What Music Are You Playing Tonight?
Re: What Music Are You Playing Tonight?
Billy Joel. Vienna.
I always knew Billy Joel was a pretty talented song writer but he was always was one of those that for some reason passed my by. I think it was because whenever I thought of him, I thought of 'Uptown Girl', which was, at best a mediocre 80's track. Nothing special. Not bad, but pretty average for it's time.
However a friend of mine has started playing 'Vienna' and I've absolutely fallen in love with it. Both the original:
And especially Grace VanderWall's cover of it:
It's currently in my top 5 tracks of all time, but it's worth noting that my top 5 tracks of all time changes on a weekly basis.

The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never allow the dumb ones to lead the pack.

still just 15!
i hope she dodges the drugs and industry predators
and keeps her music grounded
it would be sad to see it reduced to mere over-production in that american way, with backing orchestras, gospel choir, jazz saxophonists, cooing commentators etc
.
monstra mihi bona!

If it sounds like country music, that's what it is.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Re: What Music Are You Playing Tonight?
This dude Marlon Craft from NYC .. really dope!! "gang sh!t"
song is about
Contrary to what the phrase could allude to in hip-hop, Craft takes "Gang Shit" to shine a light on the culprits hidden in plain sight as the track presents listeners with three different perspectives, opening up with the gang mentality associated with the misconduct of police officers and lawbreaking of organizations such as the KKK, while presenting the dilemma as to why such a mentality doesn't hold the same consequences faced by those who fall within the stereotypical scope of a gangbanger--black men.
Appropriately, the powerful new track is attached to a visual to put things further into perspective.
Manhattan keeps on making it, Brooklyn keeps on taking it
