This started with songs about the Vietnam war, Ruby being up there with the best of them IMO, kenny rogers was not exactly known as a counter culture figure in those days was he. . We then finished with maggot brain the song and album had nothing to do with war never mind Vietnam. The Monkees were also not really known as counter culture figures and it went over my head at the time, I was only 15 though.
