It's low-budget travel, for sure. Great fun!

Lomotil and Immodium are what I use as they slow down, or in my case seemingly paralyzes the gut, to reduce greatly or stop bowl movements while on the road traveling - you don't get the urge to have a "movement".

Metronidazole is commonly used to treat/kill Giardia, or gut parasites, and can be used differently. Some people bomb their gut with a single 1gm Metronidazole dose, where others will use 250-400mg three times a day over 3-5 days to treat it.
