Best Indie films

Post by vladimir »

I've been trying to avoid Hollywood for a long time, there is seldom anything new/original/non-propaganda, which basically leaves indie/foreign films, i.e. India/France/Germany, Cannes festival/Australian film festival etc.

The problem is that there doesn't seem to be much torrenting/tubing of these movies, and most don't have subtitles.

Anybody have a secret website to get this stuff?

I've brought a few here from the States on DVD, which always have 'region' problems and need to be cracked and rewritten, which the riverfront CD shop does for me. She usually makes a copy for her shop as well. Two that I brought back recently and may be available at the shop, and that I highly recommend are 'Living in Oblivion' and Hal Hartly's 'Amateur,' which I love. Currently looking for a copy of Baghdad Cafe.

I use private torrent sites for my movies, for indie/foreign/b movies i like:

1)Karagarga
https://karagarga.net
Karagarga is a tracker for old/classic and rare movies. Their content is coming from various countries, like movies from France, movies from Germany and so on. They have some movies that can't be easily found on any other tracker.
Tracker Features:

Subtitles for everything - Custom made subtitles are done by members
Quality old content - Lots of rare movies in good quality, like 720p resolution
Although this site has been down since the 8th of June.

2)Cinemaggeddon
Cinemageddon.net

Cinemageddon is a movie tracker with a very selective taste for movies. They specialize in movies (OSTs aka original soundtracks included) that are under-appreciated (for reasons ironic or otherwise) in the world of cinema (rare, obscure, trashy, ...). To be more specific the movie needs to meet at least one of the following rules (not set in stone) :

- The movie has a rating lower than 5.0 on IMDb;
- The movie has not had a theatrical release within the past 12 months;
- The movie was made on a low budget;
- The movie is rare. If google doesn't turn up much, and a physical copy is hard to find, it's probably rare.

The maximum amount of users is set at 21.000. However, accounts are deleted every 30 minutes, opening slots for new members. Another way to enter the site is to get an invitation from a registered user or through the IRC channel.

Currently Cinemageddon has over 110,000 torrents and on average 50 new ones are added each day.

3)For general movies i use Pass The Popcorn
PassThePopcorn (PTP) is Biggest Movie Tracker Which Runs on Gazalle Based System.

PTP has got Excellent Content (Tracks All Type of Formats), Speeds 'n Pretimes Are Nice.

PTP Tracks over 212400+ Torrents With More than 32400+ Users.

OverAll, PassThePopcorn (PTP) Is a Great Movie Tracker for Movie Lovers.

These are all private sites, they open for sign ups every so often, or you can get an invite. You must keep a ratio on these sites.
