BBC and 4oD

Post by AdamS »

Anyone know of any ways to sidestep the regional problems a person encounters when trying to use BBC/4oD etc?

Try the hola free vpn extension first. if that doesn't work, get an expressvpn trial. I'm guessing in 2019, neither of those will work, though, but perhaps i'm wrong.

I use Express VPN and access the BBC IPlayer site without any problems. BBC used to be able to know I was using a proxy but now they don't. Don't know why. It does slightly slow down the download speed but that's a certain peak times of the day so I think it's a local problem and not ExpressVPN. They also have a very good online live help.

I got onto the 4oD the other day and watched Leaving Neverland which streamed no problem, but then tried another programme and it wouldn't work. I didn't get to the cause of the problem, I just switched back to iPlayer and it worked fine. I will try and suss out what the 4oD issue is when I have time.

I also use the VPN to access Netflix, the US version, which has more titles or the UK version just by switching the VPN region. it all works just fine...

Just the one D and a small O. Four on demand. No cup size involved.
I don't know what BBC means to you though.
