Modern Cambodian Houses Made Out of Lego Bricks For the Poor

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

[http://www.naturalbuildingblog.com/rice ... bag-house/] [Rice Hull Earthbag House] is good, have a look at it!
I agree, but compacted earth walls are quicker. Just make sure you keep the rain off the walls with a low hanging roof or something. Mud walls also suck all the moisture out of the rooms, so low humidity too.
The earth/rice bag are finished with cement just like red brick construction water no problem and the rice hulls are excellent inzulation and light in weight.

Plenty of mud and rice straw in the villages, and the type of construction here, with the concrete floor and concrete pillars make it ideal for mud-bricks as they are only used as the filler in of space.
Here's a few books I have on the subject.

For anyone wanting to build in mud, I suggest you start with something cheap and simple like this and the family will not take over and move in .
