Drunk Frenchman and a Tuk-Tuk Driver Have Some Road Rage in Siem Reap

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

If he was on a borrowed moto, drunk, going too fast thru downtown, he was probably asking for trouble. The locals in SR truly dislike barangtourists riding their own motos, which I understand, cause some of the newbies do not really understand how traffic flows, and are driving too fast. I almost got hit by a tourist couple up there myself one time, and they were totally out of sync with their surroundings changing speed and direction suddenly, confusing me and everyone else on the street.

Used to be illegal for tourists to rent a bike but like many other things (constructing inside Apsara zone, loud music, etc.) all this has been suspended in the run-up to elections....

I didn't know that has changed.

Haha, I looked and looked. Pisses me off because we know there's video footage out there somewhere. No way a Barang and a Tuk-Tuk driver got in a scuffle and nobody took a video.
