Drunk American Backpacker Rachel Marie Worthy Falls from Funky Flashpacker in Siem Reap

Siem Reap: A 31 year old American tourist from Dallas, Texas, Rachel Worthy, has fallen from the second story of the Funky Flashpacker Guesthouse in Siem Reap, just 2 days after her birthday, resulting in serious injury.

Police have told local media that the accident occurred because she was drunk and ended up falling out of a window.

This news comes as quite a shock, because you would assume a hostel called Funky Flashpacker catering to backpackers traveling on a shoestring across South East Asia would have some of the strictest safety precautions in the country.

Hi I would just like to inform everybody that Rachel is OK. I have just left her at the hospital. They have already done all the tests and have all come back clear. She is already eating and drinking, but they want to keep her in the hospital for two more days. She will be coming back to funky when she is released from hospital to finish off the rest of her stay.

I can confirm the girl who fell is fine. She has been given the all clear from the hospital. She will be returning to Funky Flashpacker in 3 days time to finish the rest of her stay.

That's great news. Looked like a pretty nasty fall.

Will she get any free nights or anything?

Or maybe no more beers for her...? Either way, it's good to hear she's alright. Also nice that the hostel did the right thing by bringing her to the hospital and following up on her.

Good news on the getting better front. We've all had misadventures when drunk, thankfully god smiles on the foolish. If she needs cheering up you can tell her that at least she didn't soil herself.
