A Gold Mine/Freelancers Sihanoukville

This is the part of the forum where we discuss Cambodia's nightlife! While most bars, nightclubs, pubs, beer gardens, and hostess bars are in Phnom Penh, we discuss the Cambodian nightlife across all of Cambodia, including Siem Reap, Kampot, and Sihanoukville. The main nightlife areas in Phnom Penh are on Street 136, Street 130, Street 110 and Street 51, but there are other party spots that aren't girlie bars where expats, tourists, and locals drink until the sun comes up. Feel free to post specials and promotions that relate to nighttime fun!

Leave him alone he's on holiday. Lol

I can't even remember what a holiday feels like. Where would I go? A cold place I guess. I hate cold places.

From what I can gather, Toni's girlfriend has been running CH and now a guy from Australia has either bought into it, or become a boyfriend, but he seems to be there all the time and has some say in it. The place could be a goldmine with some work, planning and someone that know the restaurant/hotel/bar business. The big thing Toni had going for him was his web site and bar tending skills, but the hotel and restaurant where not run that well. The kitchen use to be filthy, but I haven't seen it in a while.

Jo: What the Hell are you talking about? Toni and I had a disagreement about sewage leaking all over my loo from the walls and he wouldn't get it worked on.(you like walking in someone else's shit?) I lived there for two years, had one of the one bedroom apartments and had it looking better than a real hotel, not like the rest of the dumpy rooms. At one time I had over two gallons of water a day coming out of my bedroom floor and Toni wouldn't do anything, so I got cement and tar and did the roof myself. (I had five water leaks.) When I pulled up the flooring in my bedroom the water had eaten a big hole that was just about to go through to the bartop down below. Toni was one of the best bartenders I have ever met, but he was lacking in restaurant/hotel management skills. Also, he did love his beer. His web site brought me and many more people to Sihanoukville. RIP Toni.

I thought Tony was only ever the manager of that place, when he died his missus tried to flog it and found out two (think it was two) other people own it. It seems he told he owned it, but that wasn't true.

From what I can gather, Toni was the "working" partner with no actual money invested. I hear one owner lives in Singapore. As I said, the place would be a gold mine. Toni made it with his personality and web site, and a good corner location. Other than that the hotel was/is something of a dump. I don't believe it was a bar before it was CH. I came there a few months after it opened. The web site was the key. It brought a lot of us to Sihanoukville.
