Cambodian Prime Minister: You Must Now Refer to Me As "Lord Prime Minister and Supreme Military Commander" Or Else...

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

Cambodian Prime Minister: You Must Now Refer to Me As "Lord Prime Minister and Supreme Military Commander" Or Else...

Post by CEOCambodiaNews » Fri May 13, 2016 6:03 am

Holy shit. The big man ain't playing...

"PHNOM PENH, Cambodia (AP) -- For years, some Cambodian media have referred to the country's longtime leader simply as Prime Minister HE. Authorities warned Thursday that has to stop.

Starting in August, all media must use his full, honorary, six-word title - "Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HE" - in the opening lines of print articles, radio and TV stories about the leader.

The title translates roughly to "Lord Prime Minister and Supreme Military Commander" and was bestowed on HE by Cambodia's King Norodom Sihamoni in 2007.

And while we are on the subject of titles, I would like to remind all forum member you should be calling me Sir Duncan. If tuk-tuk drivers can call me sir , how hard is it for educated barangs to do the same.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

I like it, I like it.
Actually, if you notice, Cambodians are often very polite to barang in certain shops and are for ever touching their arms in traditional respect. It's just another one of the things that makes me schizo out here.

I think HE must be hoping that his name is so long and boring nobody will ever bother writing about him again. Otherwise, HE has just made himself an even bigger laughing stock outside of Cambodia/ Asia. Every time someone prints his full title (which they probably will do for the laughs), they will translate it into English just so everyone can see what a ******* ********* he actually is.

Thanks. Noticed this as well:
HE's wife Bun Rany was given a royal title in 2013 that translates to "Celebrated Senior Scholar Bun Rany HE."
Hopefully we can refer to her as CSSBRHS for short.
