Family of British Tourists Brutally Assaulted by Thais While on Holiday in Thailand (VIDEO)

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

the expat family lived in singapore, they went from a boring and safe country which may have lowered their sense of defense because of staying in singapore far too long, to a country far more exciting.

Thanks for the update.
Four suspects, two aged 32 and two aged 20, are now in custody. Lewis Jnr reportedly needed 16 stitches to his head. He said the family will never return to Thailand. “I’m not going back to Thailand again. Mum and dad won’t be either. Never, ever again.”
See, I told you they weren't teenagers. 32 for fucks sake. Anybody know where can I buy a bag of non poisonous snakes, 2 H4 pencils and a pernicious pineapple?.

BANGKOK - A British couple in their 60s who were brutally attacked during a family holiday in Thailand recounted the assault Monday in court, after a visit from government officials bearing gifts and apologies.

Rosemary and Lewis Owen and their 43-year-old son were vacationing last month in the resort town of Hua Hin when a group of four allegedly drunken Thai men attacked them. A video of the April 13 assault was widely shared in Thailand and drew global attention to the attack, in which the three tourists were punched in the faces, knocked down and kicked until they fell unconscious.

NOTE: they did not live in Singapore, their son did.

From the Telegraph article :
The younger Mr Owen, also called Lewis, had reportedly bumped into one of his attackers, who were not known to him or his parents.
He has returned to Singapore, where he works as a graphic designer, and told reporters last week that neither he nor his parents would ever return to Thailand.
But according to the Daily News website, his parents said on Monday that they would be happy to return to Thailand, telling the reporters that the incident was committed by only four individuals and did not represent the Thai people.
Bold is what is important and i think their very positive on stating this, their assholes in every country

100% agreed. In 7 months in Thailand, I've never encountered so much as a cross word. Despite the endless paranoia of our chums living in Cambodia (where I also never encountered a cross word).

Apart from one mob beating which in hindsight I kind of deserved, (i blame tequila again!!, why do I drink that swill) I never have felt threatened in Thailand. That even includes when I was classed by the cops as a major drugs trafficker during the war on drugs circa 2000-2001 and a hefty brown envelope had to be transferred, but that's a story for another day.

These things happen all over the world, be sensible and don't go looking for trouble and you will not find it. It really is not that hard.

Well if you and Grinchy left, that would be two less.
I thankyou.:hattip:

Just because some weasling Thai officials say Thailand is cool doesn't mean that it is. Many people have stories to tell about Thailand that are not good. There are a few just above. I doubt if Bingham has got hit here?
