Question about Hansinco Voltage Regulator

Post by Jacobincambodia »

I bought a 20kva Hansinco Voltage Regulator YESTERDAY and the fan stopped working in the back to keep the unit cool. I called the cheang and he said the fan should be on all the time. Anyone experienced this before? Will the machine be ok if the fan isn't on tonight? I noticed it today, so it may have shut off sometime this morning. Any advice on this would be appreciated. I already called the shop and they are coming out tomorrow, so in the meantime I thought I'd check with you guys. Btw, the fan, currently is ticking back and forth like it wants to fire up but doesn't.

It needs the fan most work by converting excess voltage to heat energy so they need a large heat sink and fan.

Yes, don't operate without a fan. If you don't have the fan it will overheat and let the smoke out of the unit :-)
