Harrods International Academy (HIA) is Looking For 2 Part-time English Teachers in Phnom Penh

This is our job board for expats. Until ZipRecruiter and Indeed make their way to the Kingdom of Wonder, this is the best place to look for employment in Cambodia, whether you're looking to teach English, manage a 5-star hotel, volunteer, or even work for some of the big NGOs. Even digital nomads who move to Cambodia sometimes need a side gig as a TEFL instructor from time to time. Most professional expatriate jobs are in Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap and Kampot are emerging as attractive alternatives. If you're an employer or hiring manager, you're also welcome to post your job listing here for free.

Harrods International Academy (HIA) is Looking For 2 Part-time English Teachers in Phnom Penh

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Teachers Wanted

Harrods International Academy (HIA) is currently seeking 2 half-day teachers for our new Early Years campus (1.5 - 5 years) located in BKK1. The positions will start late May/early June.

HIA follows the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), which is a UK-based programme that follows the British EYFS, as well as Singaporean Maths and English curricula. Although we use books for our students, our Early Years programme is most definitely a 'hands on' job including; discovery, literacy, maths and arts centres, reading corners, sand and water play areas and other very active and creative parts.

We're a relatively small and new school, currently being in our second year and we are very keen to have people who are passionate about what they do. We offer in-school staff development training, a competitive package (see below) and a great environment to work in; we ask in return that you are committed to teaching at our school.

Our package:

Salary range from $1250, prorated for the half day positions (*this salary is offered upon the successful completion of a probationary period)

More than 8 weeks paid holidays per academic year, including: 5 weeks summer break, 2 weeks Christmas break and other Cambodian National holidays

Paid work permit (not for any outstanding years) and business visa upon successful completion of a year’s contract

Maternity/paternity leave, marriage leave, and sick leave included.

Candidates should have at least a bachelor’s degree plus a teaching qualification and some teaching experience. Experience with Young Learners is a bonus. Most importantly, candidates must have a positive attitude.

Please email your CV to [email protected] with your resume and cover letter or with any questions or queries.

Note: we will also be looking to recruit teachers for our Primary summer school (July) and the new academic year (August - June) for grades 1 - 5. Salary range from $1350 and the other benefits remain the same. If you are interested in any of these positions, then please also send your CV and put the preferred grade in the subject line.

Due to expansion, there will also be the possibility of future management and admin positions for the right candidate. If you feel that you’re up for this challenge, then please indicate so.

"We're a relatively small and new school"

Always be wary of any school that starts their pay description with something like that. (And be equally wary of any school with a name like 'Harrods' [especially in Cambodia]

'Prorated for half day positions (i.e $675 a month) after a probationary period'

There are better kindergarten jobs on bongthom.com and camhr.com for young females.
