I remember in Thailand going to one of these Cabaret shows when I was about 15 years old, (my introduction to Thailand!).
There were these 4 Navy guys sitting up at the front table giving the 'actors' (ladyboys) a hard time during the performance, yelling out obscenities etc.
After the performance the manager asked the perps if they would like a private show and free drinks, of course they accepted and were quickly and quietly escorted through a side door where they were taken to with baseball bats by the performers (still dressed in drag).
The next day or two I read about them in the Bangkok post.
They were drinking all right - through a straw and back onboard the naval vessel they had arrived on and they indeed had a show of their own I guess.
Those ladyboys can be a nasty piece of work in a fight, I wouldn't particularly want to be surrounded by a group of them in a dark alley.....
I guess you just have to accept the culture and be wise about what you say and how you say it, given different circumstances that is...

BUT do agree they can be nasty if u back talk to them or give them shit
Thais ( lady boys, girls, guys ) NEVER fight one on one.
they also attack in a group and most use their feet. (to much watching Muay THai on tv)
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

PR,
No, it wasn't a 'one on one' fight from what I recall reading in the following days...
But yes, I never actually physically seen the fight, (I was 15 and in the presence of my father - In retrospect, I doubt I would have directly exposed my son to that kind of violence as a spectacle on my first visit to Thailand either), regardless, I was at the venue at the time it occurred. I definitely remember the contemptuous behavior and them being escorted out a side door. I don't feel the need to further justify what I say.
Yes, I agree with the remainder of your points...
The point being that they can be pretty violent given the right circumstances...
......and I doubt anyone would like to be on the receiving end....myself included.
Anyway.....
