Sen Monorom

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

"I bet you understand it well enough to know it's a fruit not a vegetable. Which might be a good starter for ten when lecturing others on their inadequate knowledge; might it not?"

No,first of all no one was lectured on "inadequate knowledge." I said that the Khmer culture makes inadequate use of avocados. As for them being a vegetable and not a fruit that is true from a botanical point of view, but not necessarily how the public at large considers them. Using the strict botanical definition of fruit most, if not all beans are fruit, but who thinks of them with the accuracy of a botanist?

However, I'm certain that the happy bluebird of pedantry wouldn't roost on my post merely to impart knowledge unless there was some other malicious motivation. All of your responses to my posts are by and large personal attacks that add nothing to the topic. So I've said it once before and this time with pleasure to you

I prefer Banlung as it's a bit bigger, but both are nice retreats. Nature Lodge is often lauded as a nice place in SM. Probably a bit over-hyped, but still nice if you want something different from the usual provincial guesthouses.

My berries were almost the size of watermelons when I got hit by a ball without a cup on.

Ban Lung is more typical Khmer provincial town with a large dusty bus depot and grid layout. Sen Monorom feels vaguely like a hill retreat nowadays, kind of like Dalat, Sa Pa or Sagada on the very small scale.

Hey ASP, would you like to share what is wrong between you and Cambodian in general?

As a quick reply to your question NO. More accurately you should have said Cambodia, not Cambodian. I never chose friends on the basis of their nationality. I have good Cambodian friends and yes we speak in Cambodian. By the same token I do not seek friendship with someone because they are Khmer, we must meet on a common ground that exists outside of national origin which I find shallow and meaningless.

i am not asking you on criteria you will use to make friend or choose friend. I just want to know your stereotype about Cambodian in general as you seem to be really negative about Cambodian. Wait, your wife is Cambodian? Out of curiosity, are you Taa Barang ?

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
