youkali
It's almost at the end of the world
My vagabond boat
Drifting at the whim of the waves
Brought me there one day
The island is tiny
But the Fairy who lives there
Gently invites us
To go around a trip

Youkali
It is the land of our desires
Youkali
It is happiness, it is pleasure
Youkali
It is the land where you quit all your troubles
It is, in our night, like a clearing
The star we follow
it's Youkali

Youkali
It is respect
Of all the exchanged wishes
Youkali
It is the country
Of the beautiful shared loves,
It is hope
At the heart of all the humans,
The relief
We all await for tomorrow,
Youkali
It is the land of our desires,
Youkali
It is happiness
It is pleasure

Youkali,
It is the land of our desires,
Youkali
It is happiness
It is pleasure,
It is the hope that is in every human heart
The deliverance we await for tomorrow

(there's another verse about Youkali not actually existing, but I took that out !! I think it's optional haha)

Beautiful voice. She reminds me a little of this (personally I prefer the piano to the guitar) :

I prefer guitar over piano. Pianists tend to overplay, sometimes they want to squeeze 25 inversions of one chord in one bar.
Like Ella and Joe Pass duets.

There's a line in the movie The Commitments, where Joey the Lips Fagin says (actually to the saxophonist) that jazz is musical wanking. Now I'm not agreeing with that line, but I would be of the view that a jazz guitarist can overplay his part just as a pianist can.

Lost at sea, afloat,
my wandering little boat,
drifting with the waves,
led me to a place.

a tiny scrap of island,
but the girl that lived there smiled and
invited me to open
my heart to youkali.

youkali,
the land of our desire and dreams,
youkali,
where everything is what it seems,
youkali,
a place where one can leave all cares and regrets,

a star in the night,
a path shining bright,
a hope that we might
find youkali.

youkali,
it is the home of all we hold in our prayers,
youkali,
it is the country of the love that we share,

it's the hope
that lives inside the heart of all mankind,
the answer that
we wait for 'til the end of time,

youkali,
the land of our desire and dreams,
youkali,
where everything is what it seems,

but it isn't real,
it's just a dream,
it isn't there in youkali...
we only see
what we want to see,
not really there in youkali...

only weariness survives
our cold and hardened lives,
when hope has all but died,
we still seek to forget,

to leave our earthly sorrows,
find solace in tomorrows,
the mystery that enthralls those
who search for youkali.

youkali,
the land of our desire and dreams,
youkali,
where everything is what it seems,
youkali,
a place where one can leave all cares and regrets,

a star in the night,
a path shining bright,
a hope that we might

My understanding is that there are different versions of the poem, as its roots are in the form of oral tradition rather than written verse.
Irrespective, Youkali not just a dream, it's real. It might not be beneficial to look for it, but it does exist. I have been there briefly so I know this to be true.

Rest now, my love
It's all right
The dark is gone
I'm here
I hold you

Rest now, your heart
It's all right
We're all right
Although you're gone
I'll be here to hold you
I've got you

Will you breathe through me?
And calm the storm inside
Just breathe through me
We'll keep the fires alight
I'll face down the world with you

Breathe through me
and calm the storm inside
Just breathe through me
We'll keep the stars alight
Always "hope" but never "expect".

I'm looking around for the answers
You decide what we have in the future

Yeah, your grip is too tight and I’m bruising
Dig your nails in my life and I knew it

It's not love
You killed all the flowers
Couldn't just look
You needed the power
Just let me go

Just let me go
Just let me go
Just let me go

I couldn’t be what you needed, could I?
I felt so low when I held you too high
(Just let me go)

Yeah, your grip is too tight and I'm bruising
Dig your nails in my life and I knew it

It's not love
You killed all the flowers
Couldn't just look
You needed the power
Just let me go

[Instrumental]
Just let me go
Just let me go
Just let me go
Just let me go

Just let me go
Always "hope" but never "expect".
